Did you know that merino wool naturally resists stains, odors, and bacteria?  Well, it does!  That makes it the perfect material for a mattress pad!  And the wonderful folks at SnuggleWool were kind enough to send me a crib mattress pad for review...

This pad fit perfectly over my little one's crib.  You can place a crib sheet on top of it or simply let your little one lay right on the soft, snuggly wool!  And not only does merino wool resist stains, odors, and bacteria, but it also absorbs extra moisture while you sleep, which helps keep your little one drier and cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter!  That's amazing!  And merino wool naturally holds up to 30% of its weight in water before it even begins to feel damp, so little messes - like sweat, spit-up, leaking diapers, will be absorbed and the wetness will be pulled away from your little one!

Its also machine washable, which is amazing!!!!  You simply wash it with some wool wash, and then hang it up to dry!  Now, we already owned a mattress pad for my daughter's crib, but it was such a pain because it didn't really wick moisture away from her.  It just stayed wet.  Ugh!  And it had to be line dried too, but it literally took TWO DAYS for it to dry completely!  That's not convenient at all!  But I washed the SnuggleWool pad and then I hung it up in our bedroom to dry and it dried very quickly!  WooHoo!  That was SO much more convenient!!!

Studies have also shown that pure lambswool soothes and comforts babies with a calming, swaddling effect.  When babies lay on wool, their activity rate decreases, promoting better sleep!!!  So not only is it moisture-wicking and bacteria-resistant, but it also helps baby sleep better!  And its naturally fire retardant!  That's a LOT of great benefits in one fabric!!!!
