I was SUPER excited to get to review these two books!  I've heard great things about the Weelicious cookbook and the Weelicious Lunches book - which is brand new - looked equally great!  The books are very nice and have lots of wonderful, color photos - which is something I love!  And they are filled with healthy recipes for you and your kids!

First of all, these books are BEAUTIFUL!  They are full of lovely, colorful pictures!  They are also full of Mrs. McCord's personal stories - which is something that I really love! She often tells where she got a recipe from or how she created it or why her children love it.  I love reading those stories!  It makes a cookbook more interesting to read!

The first recipe I tried was the Apple Cinnamon sticks in the original Weelicious cookbook.  Let me start by telling you I am NOT a health food person.  I like junk.  I'm ashamed to say it, but its the truth.  But I want to do better - for myself and my family.  So I decided to try these little bars.  They were very easy to make.  That really made me happy because, as a mom of 2, I don't have tons of time for lengthy recipes.  But I wasn't sure it I'd like them or not.  After all, they only had a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar.  That's not a lot of "junk" for me.  LOL!  But my 3 year old loved them!  I mean LOVED them!  She ate several with her lunch and then as SOON as she got up from her nap she asked for more of the "apple things."  She even turned down M&M's as a "potty reward" (we're potty training) and asked if she could have an "apple thing" instead!  Are you kidding me?!?  Oh!  And I loved them too!  In fact, after she went to bed I was in the kitchen eating them out of the container!  I physically had to stop myself so that she'd have some for the next day!  Haha!  I'd say that was a triumph!

If you are looking for great, fun, healthy food to feed your kids AND YOURSELF, then check out the Weelicious cookbooks!!!  You can buy Weelicious and Weelicious Lunches on Amazon.  And you can also check out Mrs. McCord's FABULOUS website - weelicious.com.
