"Henry Hodges Needs A Friend" Book Review

"Henry Hodges Needs A Friend" is an adorable, heart-warming story of loneliness, friendship, and God's sovereignty.

Loneliness and God's will are two subjects that are hard to discuss with kids.  If your little one is lonely or having trouble making friends, its hard to tell them, "Things will get better" and "God is in control."  With adorable illustrations (by Colleen Madden) and a cute rhyme scheme, Andy Andrews let's you little one know that, not only will things get better, but God really is in control and that He knows exactly what we need when we need it!

Mr. Andrews tells the story of Henry Hodges, a cute, little, freckle-faced boy who can't seem to find anyone to play with near his home.  But his parents aren't content to let him suffer from loneliness.  They take Henry to the local animal shelter to pick out the "perfect friend."  After imagining what the perfect friend might be, he spots "Hap" and knows instantly that they will be the best of friends.  This story teaches little ones about loneliness, friendship, and God's loving care for us.  Definitely an adorable read!

I received a copy of this book, free of charge, from Tommy Nelson Publishers, in exchange for my honest review.
