Broccoli Cauliflower Salad

You guys, its HARD to get my kids (and my husband) to eat broccoli.  But I've figured out the secret.  Add mayo and sugar!  Haha!  Seriously, this broccoli cauliflower is delish!  And the proof is that the kids AND the hubby devoured it tonight at dinner!

Broccoli Cauliflower Salad

Ingredients:
1 head of broccoli, chopped into bite-sized pieces
1 head of cauliflower, chopped into bite-sized pieces
6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 red onion, chopped
2 cups mayonnaise
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt

1.) In a large bowl, mix together broccoli, cauliflower, bacon, cheese, and red onion.
2.) In a medium bowl, combine mayo, sugar, vinegar, and salt.
3.) Pour mayo mixture into broccoli cauliflower mixture and combine.
4.) Store in fridge for a few hours to "meld" flavors. (You can eat it right away, but, just like potato salad or cole slaw, it really tastes better after the flavors have mingled for a while.)

I served this delicious salad with crockpot pork & sauerkraut and black eyed peas.  It was yummy!
