Hi folks! It's been a little while. I know. I'm a bad blogger! But I'm back! And I've got a list of some of the best new books from
ZonderKidz!!! At our house, we LOVE to give books for Christmas! Why? Here are some reasons:
1.) They aren't toys! Between grandparents and aunts and uncles, our kids get plenty 'o toys for Christmas! We give them fun things. We aren't Scrooges! But we try to find learning toys, creative crafts, and fun books!
2.) When you get a book for Christmas, you get fun AND learning. That's always a plus!
3.) Books are communal. When we give our kids books for Christmas, we're giving them something that we can do together - read as a family!
So here are some fabulous new books that your kids will love this Christmas...
The Beginner's Bible Collector's Edition - The Beginner's Bible is a favorite in our house. In fact, my oldest just read the whole thing in school this year! This Collector's Edition is fabulous! Not only does it include the beautifully illustrated, hardcover Bible storybook, but it includes the entire Bible on CD's AND a DVD with animated story videos!
God's Treasure Holy Bible (NIV) - This fun and creative study Bible is perfect for your little pirate or princess! Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for Girls (NIV) - The title says "for girls," but I'm telling you this is a beautiful Bible! I want one for myself! And it only says "for girls" on the outside packaging, which can be easily removed before gifting. The cover of this Bible is such a lovely blue color! It's a "leathersoft over board" binding and also has thicker paper for coloring and notetaking. Instead of full-page coloring pages, it's just coloring verses in the margins, which is perfect for that Bible journaling friend or loved one!
Brave Beauty: Finding the Fearless You - This is a great gift for that young woman in your life! Written by Proverbs31 Ministries blogger, Lynn Cowell, it contains 100 mini chapters about Scripture and how to find confidence in God instead of someone else!
Adored: 365 Devotions for Young Women - This devotional is great for young women! It covers topics such as bullying, social media, and dating. Each devotional is just one page long, and includes a Bible verse, a devotional, and a small writing prompt. Get your teen off on the right path by helping them discover the joy and great help found in daily spending time in God's word!
Once Upon A Time Bible For Little Ones - This is a great addition to your child's board book collection! We have several of these types form Zondervan and we love them all! This one has beautiful, engaging illustrations and simple Bible stories. Each story ends with a "key thought" to help your little one understand the meaning behind the story.
If You're Happy And You Know It: A Sing-Along Book - Sing along to the well-known children's classic "If You're Happy And You Know It" while enjoying the adorable illustrations in this precious board book! You and your little one will have lots of fun singing the song and enjoying the pictures!
Little Jesus, Little Me - This is a cute little board book that will help your little one understand that Jesus was once a little one just like them. Read along and see that Jesus learned to walk, loved to read, and had a mommy "just like me."
The Beginner's Bible - Daniel And the Lion's Den - Now that my oldest is learning to read, we love these "I Can Read" books! They're short, simple, have fun illustrations, and make for great reading practice! A perfect stocking stuffer for your little reader!
The Books of the Bible: My Bible Story Coloring Book - This is more than just a coloring book! Its a way to teach your child more about the books of the Bible! The coloring book is broken up into 4 sections: Covenant History, Prophets, Writings, and New Testament. Each section is broken up into 8 weeks (one story per week). They can color along as they learn the story! Wonderful for any little one who loves to color!
Kids' NIV Visual Study Bible - I may or may not have a serious study Bible addiction. (OK, I do.) I love to read different perspectives, historical perspectives, etc. So I love the idea that my children can have study Bibles too! And this study Bible is great! It has lots of great maps, illustrations, and full-color photographs! And lots of great little tidbits of information that will help them understand the Bible more!
The Beginner's Bible: My First Book of Prayers - We love the Beginner's Bible and all its related items! And this book is no exception! Its a board book with short prayers, so its perfect for toddlers. But it also works well for kids like my oldest, who are just learning to read! Every page has an illustration and a prayer on it. Plus there's a Bible verse to point you towards a Bible character and story that relate to that prayer. For example, with the prayer on "hard work," there's a passage from the story of Noah and the ark. So you can use the book in conjunction with a Bible story if you like!
Ready, Set, Find Noah's Ark - We have a couple of these Ready, Set, Find books and we love them! It combines a Bible story with "seek and find" pictures. Its also a board book, so its great for younger kids. But the illustrations and the searching game keep even older little ones involved!
Daniel and the Hungry Lions - Another great part of The Beginner's Bible collection, this board book is great for little ones. It contains the same adorable, eye-catching illustrations as The Beginner's Bible. And in board book form, its perfect for really littles!
5-Minute Adventure Bible Stories - We have the Adventure Bible for kids and my oldest loves it, so I was thrilled that they came out with a Bible story version that my younger kids can also enjoy! This book is colorful and beautifully illustrated. It contains 15 Old Testament stories and 18 New Testament stories. Each story comes with a little treasure map illustration that contains an "Adventure Discovery" (an interesting fact about the characters in the story) and a "Words to Treasure" (a Bible verse to coincide with the story).
The Bedtime Book - I've always been a big fan of Mary Engelbreit's adorable illustrations, so I was thrilled to see she'd made a precious children's book! This book contains several bedtime rhymes and songs, along with Mary's precious, colorful illustrations. And there's nothing better to lull your little one to sleep than a sleepy rhyme!
