Sagrada Game Expansions Review

One of my absolute favorite games is Sagrada, by Floodgate Games.  Its an absolute masterpiece!  First of all, it's INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!  Secondly, it involves rolling dice.  Lots of dice!  And I love dice games! Lastly, its both simple and complex.  Its simple in the fact that it's an easy game to learn. It's not an overly complex game to learn to play.  But the strategy is fantastic.  Its also a game that my hubby enjoys playing.  He's not as "game obsessed" as I am, but he still really enjoys Sagrada!  So I knew I had to jump at the chance to review the expansions!

The first expansion is called "Passion." It includes 6 Rare Glass Boards, 6 Inspiration Cards, 6 Rare Glass Dice, 6 Public Objectives, and 7 Private Objectives. And just like the original game, it adds tons of beauty!

What I love the most is that it's really several expansions in one - because you can pick and choose what you'd like to add to your game!  This is wonderful!  Some game expansions can be a bit overwhelming, adding several new items and several new rules.  With the Passion expansion, you can ease in if you like.  Add a little at a time.  Or add everything! The Inspiration Module adds special abilities. The Rare Glass Module adds wild dice and rare glass boards.  The Rare Glass Private Objective Cards can be used with the Rare Dice.  And the Public Objective Cards can add more variety.

The second expansion is called "Life." It includes 2 new Tool Cards, 12 Orange Masterwork Dice, 6 Public Objectives, 22 Apprentice Cards, 1 Masterwork Board, and 12 Window Pattern Cards.  Again, this expansion is fantastic because you can pick and choose what pieces to add to your game.  Or you can add it all! The new Masterwork Dice add a little more difficulty to the dice placement,  But they also give you the chance to score more points!  The new Apprentice Cards give you a chance to use some special actions.

What I love about both of these expansions is that they add a lot of variety to Sagrada - a game that's already top notch - but they don't change the game so much that they're hard to implement. And its definitely worth having both of these expansions because the add different items to the game! (They're also the perfect size to be stocking stuffers for Christmas!!!

I received these games, free of charge from Floodgate Games, in exchange for my honest review.
