"The Wonder-Working God" Book Review

I'll be completely honest.  When I started this book, I wondered if I'd be able to finish it.  I wasn't "wowed" at first.  But about halfway through the first chapter, I realized that "The Wonder-Working God," by Jared C. Wilson, was going to be a FABULOUS book!  And I'm SO GLAD I stuck with it!!!!

The book was broken up into several chapters, including a chapters on Jesus' miracles over nature, Jesus' healing miracles, Jesus' resurrection miracles, and the final chapter - Jesus as a miracle Himself.  Each chapter had biblical and theological insights that I had not yet considered.  It's was theologically deep, yet not difficult to read or understand.  Wilson writes in a very beautiful and easy to comprehend manner.

Just to give you a little glimpse into the beauty of Wilson's writing, here's a little excerpt from the first chapter:

"Because Jesus's very person was the perfect integration of full humanity and full divinity, he carried around with him the growing rift between this world and that one. As he walked, his elbows traced both the air and the ether, stretching the limits of creation, the heavenly gravity pressing in at his movements. Jesus strained the capacity of this world with his very presence. The world's breeches were too small, in other words, for the King of the universe, and we should not be surprised that as the seams split, glory streamed through."

I'm always concerned and vigilant when reading a theological book by an author I'm unfamiliar with.  Jared Wilson, however, seemed very theologically sound and biblically accurate.  All in all, this was an incredible read!
