If you've never tasted an Oreo Truffle, you haven't truly lived. That's right. I said it. These things are SERIOUSLY good. And the best part is that, with this simple, basic recipe, you can make tons of different flavors! The possibilities are endless!!!
So how easy are these truffles to make? Super easy! Let me give you the basic recipe first and then I'll share some great variations!
For regular Oreo Truffles you need:
1.) a package of plain Oreos
2.) an 8oz package of cream cheese
3.) 12-16 oz of chocolate candy coating (like Candyquik) or chocolate chips
What you do:
1.) Crush the entire package of Oreos. I use my Ninja! It makes it super easy!
2.) Mix the Oreo crumbs with 4-8oz of cream cheese. (I tend to use about 5-6 oz. If you want it creamier, use the entire 8 oz!) Its hard to mix the crumbs in, so just go ahead and do it with your hands! Its easier and your hands are gonna be in there anyway!
3.) Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls. Place on a parchment-covered baking sheet, and put them in the fridge or freezer for 15-30 minutes to harden. (They harden quicker in the freezer, but I never seem to have enough room in there, so I usually just put them in the fridge.)
4.) After the truffles have gotten cold, melt the chocolate chips or chocolate Candyquik. Dip truffles in chocolate and place on parchment-lined cookie sheet. (If you dipped them in melted chocolate chips, you'll need to place them back in the fridge to firm up - which means waiting about an hour to enjoy them. If you dip them in Candyquik, they'll firm up in about 30 seconds! They also won't melt as easily!
So not that I've given you the basic recipe, let me tell you how much fun you can have with these little babies! They are so simple to make and the recipe is so much fun to play around with! Here are some variations:
1.) Mint Oreo Truffles -
1 package Mint Cream Oreos, 8 oz cream cheese, chocolate candy coating.
Follow instructions above.
2.) Lemon Oreo Truffles -
1 package Lemon Oreos, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 tsp lemon extract, vanilla candy coating or white chocolate chips
Mix the cream cheese and lemon extract. Other than that, the recipe is the same as the one above!

1 package Golden Oreos, 8 oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup caramel topping (like you find in the ice cream aisle), chocolate candy coating, 1/4 toasted coconut
Mix cream cheese and caramel coating. Top dipped truffles with Coconut. (You can also mix a little coconut into the truffle mixture if you want them extra "coconutty."
