Wingspan Fan Art Pack Review

Recently, the wonderful folks at Stonemaier Games sent me a copy of their Wingspan Fan Art Pack for review.  I had already reviewed the Wingspan base game for them and my hubby and I both LOVED it, so I was more that excited to review this new set of cards!  And, as usual, Stonemaier and Wingspan did NOT DISAPPOINT!

Things I loved about this expansion:

1.) The art - I love that Stonemaier involved the fans in the game!  This is one of my favorite things about Stonemaier.  It's obvious that they love and respect their fellow gamers and fans, so it seems very natural that they would incorporate fan art into the game.

2.) The variety of the art - I love that the art isn't all drawn and doesn't all use one type of media.  There's digital art, hand drawn art, painted art, carved art, fabric art, paper art... Art using oil paints, acrylic, chalk pastels, embroidery, cross stitch, origami, lino print. There's even one made from construction paper and toilet paper, and one made from board game pieces!

3.) Inclusion of multiple expansions! - there are cards that go with the base came (North American birds), but there are also birds from other expansions.  And each card is clearly marked, just like the expansions are, so that you can choose to just use specific expansion cards if you like.

4.) The inspiration! - As a mom, I always want to inspire my kids to be creative and to think outside of the box.  There are tons of different ways to be "artistic" and this expansion demonstrates that! You can be a painter, or you can draw.  You can use paper or wood or even toilet paper to be creative!  You can even use game pieces to create art! And it's all beautiful!

Disclosure: I received this expansion, free of charge from Stonemaier Games, in exchange for my honest review.
