I'm a huge fan of roll & write and flip & write games. They involve cards or dice, lots of decision-making, and filling in some sort of play sheet, whether with numbers of drawings. These games are my jam! And my family really enjoys them too! So when the wonderful folks at Pencil First Games offered to send me a copy of their beautiful flip and write game called Delicious, I was giddy with excitement!
Let's check it out!
Delicious is a gardening-themed game for 1 or more people that takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to play.
Here's what I love about the game:
1.) The number of players! - The game can play any number of players. Each player just needs a Garden Sheet, a Play Sheet, and a pencil.
2.) The variety of play situations! - Want to play by yourself? Pencil First Games has included solo play rules! Wanna play with someone out of town? They've included suggestions for playing over video! Running out of Garden Sheets and Player Sheets? They have a printable sheet online! Pencil First has made this game super versatile!
3.) The design! - The game has a beautiful, artistic design. It looks like a classic piece of art. I love the illustrations on the cards! They're so lovely!
4.) The portability! - The game has a small box, making it great for taking on a trip or to a restaurant, or even out on a picnic!
5.) The box insert! - There's an insert to keep all the components in place! There's even a place for the expansion cards!
6.) The educational benefits! - The game can lead to some great educational discussions! - Discussions of gardening, plant biology, and plant anatomy. Discussions of nutrition and healthy diets. Discussions of planning and design.
If you enjoy flip & write games, gardening, nutrition, solo games, and/or games for large groups, this may be the game for you!
I received this game, free of charge from Pencil First Games, in exchange for my honest review.
