"Unwrapping the Greatest Gift" Book Review

I LOVE Advent books!  Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love anything that brings Jesus to the minds of myself and my family.  That's why I was THRILLED to get the opportunity to review "Unwrapping the Greatest Gift: A Family Celebration of Christmas," by Ann Voscamp.

There are so many things to love about this book!  First of all, its BIG and its BEAUTIFUL!  Its about 10" x 10" and its colorful and lovely!

This book will definitely catch your family's attention!

The book is based around the idea of the "Jesse Tree" - an advent practice of telling stories of the people in the lineage of Christ and hanging a corresponding ornament on the Christmas tree every day in December.  Ann Voscamp has some ornaments for sale or you can purchase or make your own.

The book has a study for each day in December, going all the way through to December 25.  Each study begins with a Bible passage.  Then there's a Bible story that is approximately 2 pages long.  With each story are BEAUTIFUL illustrations.  Plus, Mrs. Voscamp writes in a clear, simple, yet elegant way that draws you into the story.  At the end of each story is a page  with "Thoughts to Discuss" and suggested "Family Activities."

I'm so excited to use this book this year with my family!  We LOVE Bible story books and that's exactly what this one is - a Christmas themed Bible story book.  This year will be the beginning a wonderful new tradition for your family!  Right now this book is on sale on amazon.com for roughly $16.  Its a steal at twice that price!  Trust me!!!!

I received a copy of this book, free of charge, from Tyndale Blog Network in exchange for my honest review.
