Game Review - Onitama, by Arcane Wonders

OK, folks!  It's time for a game review!  Today's featured game is Onitama, by Arcane Wonders!  I'm super impressed by this game! Its beautiful, compact, simple, challenging, quick, and fun!  All of that together adds up to one great gaming experience!

I played with my 9 year old and she beat me!  Haha!  I love the fact that there's strategy involved, but it's mixed with luck (what cards you have at the moment), so my daughter was able to legitimately beat me.  She was so excited that she begged to play again!

What I Like:
1.) Its compact!  - At about 1/2-1/3 the size of a normal board game, Onitama is great for a gamer who is, um, running out of room to store games. Haha!  Instead of a game board, it has a mat that's very similar to a mousepad!  So incredible! Makes it much easier to store and far more portable!  So its great for travel as well!

2.) Its a 2-person game!  We have lots of family games (which I love) but I'm always looking for games that are great for 2 people. After we put the kids to bed, my husband and I often like to pull out a game to play and relax.  This game is perfect for that!
3.) It doesn't have a long set up!  As much as I love a long, elaborate game, sometimes it can be inconvenient - especially at the end of a long day.  Onitama has a mat, a few people, and a few cards.  That's it!  It's a perfect game to pull out at the end of a long day!  Not much to set up and not much to put away!
4.) It's easy to learn!  The cards make this game pretty easy to learn.  It doesn't take a lot of time to teach someone how to play.  But the game itself is still a mental challenge!
5.) It only takes about 10-15 minutes to play!  Although I also love a good, long game, sometimes a short game is what I need.  This one is perfect.  You can play it once or 5 times!  Haha!

Onitama it beautiful, fun, easy to learn, easy to set up, and easy to store!  Its definitely a great game!

I received this game, free of charge, from Arcane Wonders, in exchange for my honest review.
