Bosk Board Game Review

I'm just gonna say it.  I'm a total sucker for a pretty board game!  Colorful games ALWAYS draw me in - like a moth to a flame!  But sometimes they turn out to be pretty but not a lot of fun.  Boo!  Thankfully, Bosk, by Floodgate Games is both incredibly beautiful and tons of fun!  Woohoo!

Here's what I love:

1.) The color! - Seriously!  Have I mentioned how pretty this game is!  Its so attractive! The colors are so pleasant!  It makes you imagine a gorgeous, Autumn day!

2.) It’s well made! - There's nothing worse than getting a fun game that's cheaply made.  You spend half your time worrying about pieces breaking or tearing. Especially if it’s a game you want to play a lot. But Bosk is very well made.  The cardboard trees are thick and appear to be quite durable.  And the little leaves are made of wood!

3.) It's not difficult to learn! - Although the game has 4 phases (2 playing phases and 2 scoring phases) that mimic the 4 seasons, its fairly simple to learn.  I sat down with my 3 kids and we jumped right into the game!  That rarely happens.  Usually I have to sit alone with a game and figure it out before I introduce it to my kids. And although the game says 13+, my "almost" 6 year old was able to play with us with just a little help with strategy.

4.) The box is well laid out! - I love a well planned game box!  And Bosk definitely has one!  Complete with individual trays for each player's trees! So everything has a place and it’s well organized!

Final thoughts - I found this game easy to learn and simple to play, but also a fun strategy game.  I've rarely seen a game this pretty.  (Except for Sagrada, which is also a Floodgate Games title!) And I love that even my kids can play along!

I received this game, free of charge from Floodgate games, in exchange for my honest review.
