Mr. Avery gives in depth perspective on the language and history behind the names of God. However, what makes his book so unique is his use of personal stories to illustrate many of the names. This use of personal anecdotes along with his personal views and insights on the names of God make this book a great read. Here is one of my favorite insights from Avery:
Malachi coined a prophetic name: "For you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wing" (Mal. 4:2). Some people expected the Messiah to come as a healer. Perhaps the woman with the disabling and humiliating hemorrhage was among them. Did she touch Jesus' fringe because she knew that the Hebrew word for the corner of a garment also means "wings"? Either way, her bold faith bore fruit. She went home healed.
I received a copy of this book, free of charge, from BookCrash, in exchange for my honest review.
