TENZI Games Blog Review

The wonderful folks at TENZI were kind enough to send my family a copy of each of their games for review!  And I have to say, I'm a little amazed at how fun these simple games are!  Seriously!  We had so much fun playing these games!  So let me introduce you to the fun:

First off is the original game: TENZI -

1-4 people can play with one of these sets, so the fabulous folks at Tenzi sent us two sets - since there are 5 people in our family.  And I REALLY appreciate it too, because NOBODY wants to miss out playing this game!  In fact, we were playing while Daddy was ironing some clothes.  I walked out of the room to do something, came back in a few minutes later and Daddy was playing too!  "It just looked like they were having so much fun," he said!  Haha!

What I love about the game is that there are lots of different ways to play. The main way is to roll your ten dice until you get all of the same number. The first person to do it yells, "Tenzi!" But you can stack your rolled dice up and make a Tenxi Tower, you can roll doubles, you can also roll 5 of one number and 5 of another number and yell, "Splitzi!"

There are tons of ways to change the game!  In fact, there are so many ways that they actually made a set of cards with different playing options! - 77 Ways To Play TENZI!

The second game we received was PAIRZI -

This is both a dice and a card game!  And my kids LOVED it!  Each person gets a pair of dice.  Everyone rolls their dice at once.  You roll until you get doubles.  Then you find pairs of monsters as fast as you can. And whatever double you get is how many pairs of monsters you can find.  Then you roll again and keep going until all the monster cards are gone.  The person with the most pairs of monster cards wins!

These little monster cards are so cute and colorful! We had a blast playing this one!  And what I love about it is, just like TENZI, its a simple enough game that my 4 year old can play! There are a lot of games that we play that are too complicated for her and she can feel left out.  But she can play TENZI and PAIRZI with little to no assistance!

The next game we received was SLAPZI -

This is another game that my younger two can play with us.  It involves some reading with the clue cards, but we just read those outloud.  In this game, each person gets 5 double-sided picture cards.  Then someone lays down a clue card.  It will say something like, "It can fit into a backpack," or "Its yellow and a fruit."  Everybody searches their cards to find one that matches the clue and the first one to slap theirs down gets to discard theirs.  The first person to discard all of their cards wins.

Lastly, we received ITZI -

ITZI is one step up from SLAPZI.  Instead of picture cards, each card has 4 letters on it.  Again, someone puts down a clue card and you try to be the first to put down a card with a letter on it that corresponds with the clue.  To make it more challenging, there are also 2 colors on the clue cards.  You can play a more challenging game by having to put down a letter that is the color on the clue card.  There's also an icon in the middle of each letter card and each clue card.  You can also make the game more challenging by having to pick a letter from a card with the matching icon to the clue card!  I love how well thought out that is!

All 4 of these games are quick and fun!  They're also all super colorful - which is extremely attractive!  My family enjoyed them all and I was surprised that games that were so simple would be so much fun.  But they were!  And I love that they get my kids thinking (about numbers, pictures, and even the first letters of words)!

I received these games, free of charge, from TENZI, in exchange for my honest review.
