Great Small Box Games and Game Accessories That Fit Perfectly In An Easter Basket!

Easter is coming!  And if you're like me, you're probably trying to find creative ways to fill those Easter baskets that don't include hopping your kids up on an insane amount of sugar. Thankfully I have a HUGE list of fabulous games and game-related accessories that fit perfectly in an Easter basket and make fantastic gifts!  So, let's jump in, shall we?

1.) The Easter Escapade, by Grand Gamers Guild

The Easter Escapade is a fantastic little escape room in a box!  Just 18 cards and a little mystery to solve!  You're supposed to be helping out with the community egg hunt, but when you arrive you realize all of the other volunteers have disappeared.  Can you find everyone and hide all the eggs in time?

This little gem is the perfect Easter-themed game and can accommodate any number of players! Don't have time to order? Fear not!  They also sell a print and play version on their website!

2.) Bloom, by Gamewright

Bloom is a fantastic little roll & write game! Roll the dice, circle flowers, score points for the best bouquets. This game is adorable and perfect as a spring-themed gift! And it plays 1-5 players, so it's perfect for a solo game or a game for the whole fam!

3.) eggHEAD, by Gamewright -

eggHead: A Hard Boiled Logic Puzzle is a great little logic puzzle for solo play. It contains 20 double-sided challenge cards (so 40 challenges) that get progressively harder and harder. Place a pattern card in the tray and see if you can solve the eggy puzzle by placing each colored egg in the right spot.

4.) Speckled Eggs for Wingspan and 5-pack of trays for eggs, tokens, etc. by Stonemaier Games-

We love Wingspan in our house. And if you have a Wingspan fan in your house, these speckled eggs are a PERFECT addition to an Easter basket! They add just a little extra choice and pizzazz to your Wingspan play! And these token trays are another great accessory! Perfect for organizing all those little tokens and eggs - which Wingspan has a ton of! Or use them for any other game with fiddly little pieces!

5.) Thrive Pond Life Expansion, by Adam's Apple Games -

Thrive is a fantastic 2-player board game and this expansion is the ideal addition to an Easter basket! I previously reviewed Thrive and was enthralled by this thinky, puzzly, 2-player game. The design is beautiful and the chess-like gameplay is quite appealing.  (The base game itself is medium-sized, so if you don't own it yet, pick it up for your Easter basket as well!) Not only does the expansion add some extra oomph to the play with variable power cards, but it also adds a 3rd and 4th player to the game!

6.) Sync or Swim, by Bezier Games -

Sync or Swim is a completely uniquely themed, cooperative board game.  Join your friends as teammates on a synchronized swimming team. Can you complete the routine perfectly or will it all fall apart? You need at least 3 players to play the game, but this is a fun game for game night!

7.) Booty Dice, by Messy Table Games -

A simple, fun dice game for 2 to 6 people, Booty Dice is the perfect pirate-themed, dicey fun! Steal doubloons from fellow pirates but try not to lose all your lives! Be the first to win 25 doubloons or be the last pirate standing to win the game!  This game isn't super complicated, but its tons of fun! (Even though it can play with 2 players, I recommend have at least 3 for the true, thieving pirate experience.

8.) Ecosystem: Coral Reef, by Genius Games -

Build your own ecosystem of organisms that live in the Great Barrier Reef. Will your ecosystem and all its food webs score more points than everyone else's? Coral Reef is a fun card game that is educational as well as beautiful. Build a tableau of cards representing your coral reef ecosystem and see if its diverse enough to win.

9.) Trio, by Happy Camper Games -

Trio is a fun, simple card game that plays 3-6 players.  A mixture of memory and go fish, Trio is easy to learn and easy to play, but hard to win! You can jump into play as soon as you finish reading the few, simple rules. But they've added "spicy" rules for a second level of gameplay, which makes this game very versatile.

10.) The Bears and the Bees, by Grandpa Beck's Games -

In The Bears and the Bees, be the first to play all your cards into the hive by matching colors. But be careful because bears, flowers, and bees can be obstacles that keep you from going out first. The Bears and the Bees plays in around 30 minutes and plays up to 5 players, making it an ideal family game night game.

11.) Nuts about Mutts, by Grandpa Beck's Games -

Be the best dog walker by getting all your dogs home before anyone else does. But watch out!  Your fellow dog walkers are going to try and trip you up before you can get everyone home! Nuts ABout Mutts is another great family card game by Grandpa Beck's.  This one needs at least 3 players, but also plays up to 8, so its perfect for a big family or a get together.

12.) Gnoming Around, by Grandpa Beck's Games -

Enjoy these little gnomes playing golf. Win the game by having the lowest score.  (And teach your kids about positive and negative integers at the same time!) Gnoming Around is a golf-type game, also from Grandpa Beck's. It plays 2-7 players, making it perfect for a couple or a large family.  ANd it plays pretty quickly - at just 15-30 minutes, so its a great filler game or quick option.

13.) Take the Gold, by CardLords -

Send adorable cat pirates to steal gold from other players. Or call in the corgi officers to protect your own gold!  But watch out for the Kraken! If he shows up, he'll wipe out everything! Take the God is quick and easy, but lots of fun.  Pair it with the previously mentioned Booty Dice for a lovely pirate-themed basket.

14.) BattleGoats, by CardLords -

BattleGoats is a combination of Memory and War.  Lay out your battlefield and choose a player to battle.  Highest card wins each battle.  The player with the last card standing wins. Battle plays with as little as 2 players or as many as 6, so it works well with a few players or a lot.  And it can play in as little as 5 minutes, so play a quick game or turn it into a tournament!

15.) Boss Monster: Rise of the Minibosses -

Boss Monster: Rise of the Minibosses is the newest game in the Boss Monster series and its perfectly sized for an Easter basket! Build your dungeon in order to lure heroes and defeat them before they reach your boss. This is a more complicated card game, but still accessible for kids, particularly once they can read well. If you're looking for a slightly simpler game, try the original Boss Monster, which has a lower complexity lever on Board Game Geek. Both games play in around half an hour.

16.) Overboss Market Board and Overboss Limited Edition Tile Set -

If you have an Overboss (the board game addition to the Boss Monster universe) fan in your home, these accessories are the perfect addition to their Easter Basket! A market board to make card organization easier and a limited edition tile set to add some extra oomph to your gameplay.

17.) NumbstersTussie Mussie, and Sprawlopolis, by Button Shy Games -

These three games, or any others by Button Shy, are the perfect addition to any Easter basket with their tiny size. Each game has just 18 cards and is wallet-sized. Numbsters is a one-player puzzle game, while Tussie Mussie is a 2-4 player press-your-luck style game, and Sprawlopolis can be played solo or with 1-3 other players.  Each game takes between 10 and 30 minutes to play and can be played virtually anywhere!

18.) Red Rising Natural Rubber Play Mat, by Stonemaier Games -

Know someone who loves the Red Rising card game? This game mat is the perfect upgrade! This natural rubber playmat is durable and contains a grip surface on the reverse side to eliminate slipping. The rubber surface also makes it easier to remove cards.

19.) Rolling Realm Promo Cards, by Stonemaier Games -

Here's another little Stonemaier gem!  These promo card packs are the perfect gift for anyone who loves the Rolling Realms game! (By the way, Rolling Realms is a FANTASTIC game and its medium-sized, so the game itself could fit in an Easter basket! Make the game the feature and add in a few of the promo sets to really put it over the top! That's my kinda Easter basket!)

20.) The Sherlock Files Junior, by Indie Boards and Cards

The Sherlock Files is the kids version of Indie Boards and Cards' fantastic deduction series, The Sherlock Files.  In this wonderful kids' version, work cooperatively with your kids to solve 3 separate mysteries. Older kids (who can read) can work on the mysteries solo or as a team.  Or you can join your kids and form a crime-detecting family unit!

21.) Clever 4ever, by Stronghold Games -

Clever 4ever is the third installment of the popular Clever (or, Ganz Schon Clever) roll and write game series.  These games are tons of fun and quite the little puzzle. While it plays up to 4 players, the game also works really well at two players!  And they've even included rules for solo play!

22.) That's Pretty Clever! Kids, by Stronghold Games -

Stronghold has also added a kids version to their popular Clever series of roll and write games! And this little gem is perfect for kids ages 5 and up! Roll the dice and cross off rewards. At the end of the game, the person with the most rainbow stars wins! Simple, yet CLEVER!

You can't go wrong with any of these games or accessories!  They're all ideal for that game loving friend of family member! So, head out now and get some board game Easter basket stuffers and make this year's basket the BEST ONE EVER!
