"My Happy Pumpkin" Book Review

I received a copy of this book from Booklook Bloggers in exchange for my honest review.

I was very excited when this book arrived!  To begin with, my toddler LOVES pumpkins!!!  (She gets that from me.  I'm all about anything Fall-themed!)

There are so many things to love about "My Happy Pumpkin," by Crystal Bowman.  First of all, its a board book - which I love.  They are so much easier to maintain with little kids.  The illustrations, by Claudine Gevry, are very cute.  I also love that the book doesn't have tons of text per page. We love to read books to our kids before bedtime and this is a perfect bedtime book.  Its not super long or involved - which can cause a little one to lose interest.  It also rhymes!  Yay!  I love reading rhyming books to my kids.

The story is also great.  It compares the picking, cleaning, and carving of the pumpkin to how God "makes us new" when we come to know Him.  Its a very simple, and yet important, story.  This is a perfect Fall-themed book.  I can't wait until we get this year's pumpkins for carving.  I think it would be wonderful to turn this carving the pumpkins and reading this book into a new Fall tradition for our family.
