To begin with, the book has lots of fabulous pictures! I love a cookbook with great pictures! It makes it easier to decide if you want to try a recipe when you can see the finished product!
The book also has some fabulous introductory sections, like a section of popular French ingredients and a section on David's preferred cooking equipment. The main section of the book is broken up into 6 sections: appetizers, first courses, main courses, sides, desserts, and pantry. Each section not only includes wonderful recipes, but great personal stories (like the difficulty of getting used to the rench culture's loose relationship with time) and cultural information on the dishes (like the background of Frisee salad, or "salade lyonnaise.") With so many beautiful pictures, stories, and cultural information, this is more than just a great cookbook. Its also a great read!!!
I received a copy of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.
