Science Ninjas "Big Trouble with Simple Machines" Book Review

I'm gonna be transparent here.  Make an honest confession.  I'm not a "science-y person." I think its interesting.  I love watching people explain experiments, etc.  But I feel completely inadequate when it comes to explaining it myself.  Especially when the aforementioned "it" is something like physics or chemistry. That's why I was THRILLED to receive a review copy of Big Trouble with Simple Machines, from Science Ninjas!

As a person that is often intimidated by teaching science, this book appealed to me right away!  Its a nice sized, hardback book, with a fun and colorful cover!  And inside, well, inside is AMAZING!!!  Its a comic book!  A fun, creative, colorful, exciting comic book!!!

The comic starts with an introduction to the main characters: Mei Wu, Carlos Einstein, and Eureka Fermi - all members of the exclusive Science Ninjas. They're on the search for the elusive Nova Battery, which could revolutionize energy.  But they have quite a few obstacles to overcome first!  Each chapter covers a different type of simple machine (inclined plane, wedge, lever, wheel and axle, and pulleys). Readers learn about the principles of force, work, mechanical advantage, and compound machines!  This is an amazing way to introduce your kids to some difficult concepts in a fun and engaging manner!

There's even an illustrated appendix with experiments you can do at home to build your own simple machines!  This is a must for any classroom, homeschool, or home library!

I received this book, free of charge, from Science Ninjas in exchange for my honest review.
