"Words to Dream On" Book Review

I love reviewing children's books - especially new Bible story books!  But we do have quite a few now, so it takes a special book to make me really sit up and pay attention.  "Words to Dream On" is one of those books!!!

"Lighten Up, Y'All" Cookbook Review

I'm a Southern girl through and through.  I love all things Southern, especially when it comes to food - BBQ, potato salad, deviled eggs, mac & cheese, fried okra, casseroles, Duke's Mayonnaise, pies, cakes, Dr. Pepper, pecan brittle, and even a cold bottle of coca cola with some salted peanuts dropped inside.  (If that last one grosses you out, don't knock it until you've tried it!) But there's one thing that's true of Southern food - its quite often unhealthy.  That's why I was excited to review "Lighten Up, Y'All!"

"Bethlehem Road" Book Review

"God's redemption.  That's what this story is really all about.  Sure, there are the very human elements of struggle, sacrifice, love, friendship, and faithfulness.  Yes, the romantic component is epic, inspiring the music of countless weddings.  It's undeniable that tragedy and heartache play major roles in the story's develpoment and the direction of the main characters' lives.
But at the final curtain call, it is God's faithfulness that takes the bow.  Only God is big enough to restore hope in the midst of utter despair.  Only he can redeem the mourner's grief and grow something beautiful out of the dark soil of emotional and spiritual destitution.  Only God can work all things together - even the bad things, even the darkest of days - to produce something good (Rom 8:28)."
- Paul O'Rear (from the Forward to Bethlehem Road)

"Supermarket Healthy" Cookbook Review

I love when Food Network releases a new cookbook.  I'm a huge fan.  And so is my preschooler.  She often asks if she can watch Food Network instead of cartoons.  Haha!  So I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to review "Supermarket Healthy," by Melissa D'Arabian!

"The Beginner's Bible Come Celebrate Easter" Sticker And Activity BookReview

Easter is coming!!!! It's one of my FAVORITE holidays!  Not because of a bunny or a basket full of candy, but because we get to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ!!! If you've read my blog, you know I make a BIG DEAL out of Easter.  We do crafts, have a big meal, and I try to make the kids' Easter baskets point to the true meaning of the holiday - with books about Jesus, crafts, CDs, etc.  So I'm thrilled to be reviewing this sticker and activity book from The Beginner's Bible!!!

"Nourished" Book Review

Hello.  My name is Rebekka, the One Jesus Loves.  Why do I call myself that?  Well, its something I learned from Becky Johnson and Rachel Randolph in their fabulous new book, "Nourished."  Referring to yourself as "The One Jesus Loves" is something Becky and her daughter Rachel discuss in the book, and I have to say that I've loved the idea since I read it!  I can't help but smile whenever I say or write that phrase.  "The One Jesus Loves."  It gives me chills and makes me giddy.  And why shouldn't it!  (Have I mentioned yet how much I loved this book?)

The Soup Club Cookbook Review

I once again am reviewing a cookbook for you guys!  I know, I know.  I review a lot of cookbooks.  But seriously, I'm a cookbook addict! And I'm "souper" excited about this one!  (Get it?  Yeh, yeh.  I'm corny.  I've learned to live with it.)
