Blogging Through the Alphabet - E is for "Exceptional Customer Service"

I LOVE shopping online!  Its one of my favorite pastimes - to my husband's dismay!  LOL!  Often, there are mistakes - in packing, shipping, or other areas.  I know some people get furious about that, but I try to remember that accidents happen.  After all, we're all human.  Its not perfection that makes a company great, its how they handle mistakes, questions, etc.  With that in mind, I thought I'd start a list of companies from which I've received great customer service!  I find that I'm often more likely to complain about a company than to praise them when they do a good job, so this post is an effore to change that!  This is by no means an exhaustive list of my favorite companies.  After all, there have been many companies that I've bought from and had a great experience, but I never had to contact customer service.  This is a list of companies that I have contacted because 1.) I had a question, 2.) I was dissatisfied with a product I received, or 3.) there was a mistake when my order was packed or shipped.  All of these companies provided me with what I consider to be wonderful customer service and I thought my readers should hear about it!

1.) ZoLi - We received a Sumo Snack Stacker in our very first Citrus Lane box and let me just start by saying how much we LOVE it!!! Its a fabulous product!!! It holds tons of snacks, is easy to hold and seals very well! Unfortunately, during a particularly bad bought with "mommy brain" I threw it in the dishwasher and the lid fell into the bottom of said dishwasher - where it stayed for several days, getting washed OVER AND OVER AND OVER again until it finally melted. I was crushed! I got on their Facebook page and let them know what happened and asked if I could buy a new top. That same day I received an email from their customer service saying they would be very happy to send me a new top for free. I was SHOCKED!!! After all, my "mommy brain" issues are certainly not their fault! But I was so pleased at their friendly, helpful, "above and beyond" attitude!

Easy Canvas Prints 16x20 Canvas Review

Disclosure - Per FTC Regulations, I am disclosing that I received product(s) from this company/website, free or at a discounted rate, for review. I was in no other way compensated for my review. The views expressed in this review are my own, honest opinions and any claims should be verified on the sponsor's site.

I was super excited when the folks at Easy Canvas Prints contacted me about a review!  It didn't take me long at all to pick the photo that I wanted to use!  I'd just taken a beautiful pic of my little girlies!  It looked pretty awesome, if I do say so myself!  (It was one of those times when you take 150 photos and out of that bunch you get ONE good picture.  LOL!!!   But its SOOOO worth that one!  I began to worry though.  I mean, this picture looks great as a regular photograph.  I was pretty pleased with my effort.  I'd hate to order it on a huge canvas and have it look horrible.  That would really stink!  Thankfully, Easy Canvas Prints did a great job!!!

Blogging Through the Alphabet - D is for "Dumb and Dumber Build a Cow"

Well, its time for letter "D" in our "Blogging Through the Alphabet" series!  WooHoo!!!  This week I'm doing something a little unconventional.  I'm actually using an old blog post - from June 12, 2012.  I know.  I know.  That's slack.  But I came across this post a week or so ago and it reminded me how much I had learned from this Bible story, so I thought it was worth repeating.  If you've been with my blog since the very beginning, then you may have read it.  If not, it may be totally new to you.  Either way, give it a read!  Its been my experience that God's word always has something to teach us!  I hope this lesson from the life of Aaron teaches you as much as it has taught me!

June 6, 2012 -
My little one and I finished the book of Exodus this morning (on our "journey through the Bible")! We were very excited! With 40 chapters - reading approximately one chapter per day - it took us more than a month! But what a blessing! We both learned SOOOO many things!!!

One passage that really stuck out to me was Exodus 32: 1-10. You may remember it as the story of the golden calf. If you aren't familiar, let me "nut-shell" it for you. - Moses was up on the mountain receiving the law from God Himself. He'd been up there for more than a month and while he was gone, his brother Aaron was in charge of the people. But the people began to worry - as they were prone to do - that Moses had been gone too long. They began to wonder if something had happened to him. And they began to doubt God. So they came to Aaron and told him to make them "gods who will go before us." (Here's your "Dumb.")

Burgers' Smokehouse Baby Back Ribs Review

I just had a DELICIOUS meal thanks to the folks at Burgers' Smokehouse!  Burgers' is a family-owned business that started in the late 1920's by selling cured hams.  Now, more than 80 years later they sell all sorts of fabulous foods, like hams, bacon, ribs, turkey, sausage, and even desserts!!!  The wonderful folks at Burgers' were kind enough to send me 2 slabs of their baby back ribs for review - one each of their dry rub and sauced ribs.

The Dry Rub Ribs - I cut them in half so that they fit in the dish better.

My Natural Eco Teether Review

The views expressed in this review are my own, honest opinions and any claims should be verified on the sponsor's site.

Yay!  I was so excited about this review!  I know, its the little things that make me happy.  Haha!  And this isn't some HUGE product, but its pretty awesome!  Since learning more about the dangers of plastics, I've started replacing things around my house - starting with the things my kids use, like eating utensils, plates, sippy cups, etc.  But as my youngest gets closer to teething age, I've begun to think about the teethers she puts in her mouth.  I don't want her teething on cheap, chemical-filled plastics.  Thankfully, I've found some great, safe teethers for her and one of them is the MyNatural Eco Teether...

Blogging Through the Alphabet - C is for "Celebration!"

If you know me personally, then you know I love to celebrate!  Christmas is a HUGE deal at our house!!!  (Yes, I'm talking about Christmas in the middle of July!  And apparently my oldest has inherited that love, because she's already asking when the Christmas tree will come back.  LOL!)

If you read my blog, then you know I'm a BIG fan of subscription boxes.  Its so much fun to get a monthly box of fun, surprise products. Well, I didn't want my husband to feel left out of all the fun, so I began looking around for some cool subscription ideas for him.  That's when I found Five Four Club.  They send a monthly box of clothing for that special man in your life - based on their style.
The folks at Five Four offered to send my husband a box for review, so of course I agreed!

The views expressed in this review are my own, honest opinions and any claims should be verified on the sponsor's site.

As I've mentioned before, I recently began trying to replace the plastics in our home - starting with the kitchen.  Its a work in progress, but I'm determined to get rid of as much plastic as possible.  I've replaced our plastic food storage containers with glass ones.  I've replaced my kids' plastic sippy cups with stainless steel.  I've replaced our disposable plastic straws with reusable glass straws.  You could say I'm on a mission - a mission to make our family healthier, our home more environmentally friendly and save money wherever possible.

With that in mind, I've been working on replacing the disposable plastic bags that we use for lunches and snacks.  The wonderful folks at Itzy Ritzy were kind enough to send me a few of their snack bags for review, and I have to say, I immediately fell in love...

John Boos Deluxe Barbecue Board Gift Pack Review

The views expressed in this review are my own, honest opinions and any claims should be verified on the sponsor's site.
I've got another great John Boos review for you guys today!  (If you didn't see my first review, you can check it out HERE.)  I LOVE my John Boos cutting boards!  These cutting boards are made in the USA - which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!  And they are great quality!  The awesome folks at John Boos sent me their Deluxe Barbecue Board Gift Pack for review...
This set comes with one 20"x15" hard rock maple edge grain constructed cutting board, one 7" santoku knife, and one 7" carving fork.  The board has a juice groove, which makes it great for cutting practically everything!  Its also reversible, which makes it very versatile!

The knife and carving fork are also very good quality!  I wondered about them when the I received the package.  I've ordered items (like mail-order steaks) many years ago that came with "free knives."  They were SUPER cheap.  I threw them right out.  These knives are NOT cheap.  They are very nice quality!

John Boos also sells their own Boos Block Cream.  This cream is all-natural and is made of unbleached beeswax and food-grade mineral oil.  Its moisture locking and also improves the longevity and appearance of your cutting board, so its definitely a must have!

I'm still thoroughly impressed with my John Boos cutting boards.  They are extremely high quality.  And I love that this board has a juice groove!  It makes it so much easier to maintain the mess!!!  Whether you are a professional chef or a home cook, you should definitely check these boards out!!!

Check out all of John Boos' fabulous products HERE.
