Pick And Draw Card Game and Book Review

Hello lovely readers!  Its been a little while!  But we've been getting our homeschool rhythm!  It takes a while.  Haha!  But I had to stop by the blog and introduce you to one of our new FAVORITE games! Pick and Draw!

We actually first learned about Pick and Draw in my 4th grader's Classical Conversations class!  Their tutor used it during review time and the kids were so excited to play! I knew instantly that we HAD to have it!

So what is Pick and Draw?  Its a card game, an art activity, a pre-writing activity, and a barrel of fun!!! The Pick and Draw Deck comes with 9 cards in each of the following categories: face shape, nose shape, eye shape, mouth shape, and hair style. You pull a random card from each pile and use the combination to make your very own masterpiece!

My kids love this game!  And so do I!  Its something we can play as a family, or they can play together if I'm working on something else. One child can even play it alone! Its incredibly versatile!  And all of the shapes are simple and easy, so even my 4 year old can play with her older sisters!

I love how creative and useful this little deck of cards is!  Its a great art activity, review activity, even a creative writing activity!  Use the cards to draw a face, then name it and give it a backstory! You'd be surprised how creative your kids can be with these stories!

Whether you're a parent, homeschooler, or school teacher, Pick and Draw is a MUST have! It has lots of uses and its small and portable! So you can take it on vacation, long car rides, or anywhere else!

And if you really want to step it up to another level, Rich Davis - creator of Pick and Draw - has compiled an entire book of creative activities to accompany his cards - The Big Book of Pick and Draw Activities!

From nonfiction writing activities, to creative writing, to educational posters, to grief counseling with teens - this book is JAM PACKED with incredible and useful ideas!

If your kids enjoy Pick and Draw, make sure you also pick up a copy of The 1-Minute Artist: Learn To Draw Almost Anything In 6 Easy Steps!
