I've mentioned it many times before, but we LOVE to do arts and crafts in our house!  My grandfather was an artist and my mom and her 2 brothers were/are all very talented as well.  My sister and I also inherited that gene.  My sister can take a plain wooden object and make it BEAUTIFUL!  (She got the painting gene.  LOL!)  Anyway, I'm always looking for ways to encourage artistic creativity in my little ones, so I was thrilled when I found The Art Pantry!

The fabulous folks at The Art Pantry were kind enough to let me choose one of their craft/art kits for review.  I chose this Wonderful Watercolor Resist Kit with Oil Pastels!  When the box arrived, it came with all of the supplies plus an information sheet that explained the project in more detail.  On Saturday, I took my little artist outside and we got to work.  First we colored on the paper with the pastels.  We had lots of fun creating our pictures!

Then I mixed the watercolors (like the instructions explained) in the paint cups that were provided.  (By the way, I LOVE that they even included the empty paint cups to make this project easier!  No need to find something to put the paint in!  It made things so much easier and stress-free!)  Then we painted away!

My little one had so much fun!  And, quite frankly, I did too!  It was fun to watch the paint bead and run and make beautiful lines.  She did NOT want to come in when we were done!  And, because the kit contains full-sized bottles of paint, a full package of pastels and a full book of paper, we will be able to do this project many more times!  Yippee!!!!
