Eagle-Gryphon Games Review

With Christmas coming up, I'm always on the look for great Christmas presents.  But I like to get my kids things that will grow with them.  Things they'll be interested in for more than a week.  Haha!  Don't get me wrong.  We get our kids toys.  But I love getting them some things we can enjoy together - like crafts or games!  Games are a favorite in our house!  And Eagle-Gryphon Games has some great titles!  They were kind enough to send us a few for review!

12 Days of Christmas -

This is a great Christmas-themed card game!  Simple enough for children to understand, yet fun enough for parents to enjoy.  That makes it a fabulous family Christmas game!  And the cards are beautiful!

This game the perfect addition to a Christmas Eve box.  Or, if you and your family celebrate the 12 days of Christmas (December 25 to January 5th), this is a fabulous stocking stuffer!

Elevenses for One -

This is a fabulous solitaire-type game!  In fact, its TWO GAMES IN ONE!  Along with Elevenses for One, the box also contains Bowling Solitaire!

And it's small enough to fit into a Christmas stocking, a purse, etc!  In Elevenses for One, you're the maid for Lady Agatha.  You need to set the tea tray in 15 minutes (turns).  It's a great mental challenge!  And with Bowling Solitaire also included, Mom and Dad can both enjoy at solitaire game!

Musketeers: Tin Box Edition -

This is another great stocking stuffer!  And its in a nice tin, which is great!  Its a simple card game that relies heavily on luck, so its not strategy-heavy.

But I like that!  Sometimes you want a lighter card game.  Especially when playing with kids.  It's a nice, light, fun card game that doesn't take long.  But you can play in rounds to make it longer if you like!

Number Please! -

I'm always on the lookout for great math-related games!  And I think Number Please is one of those!  Its small, so you can fit it in a bag and transport it easily! The game involves rolling dice and using them to make equations!

This is great for getting your kids thinking mathematically!  The instructions also have an additional SIX other ways to play the game!  That makes it incredibly versatile and fun!

Birds On A Wire -

This is a fun set collection game.  The boards are thick and sturdy.  The components are colorful and cute.  It's easy enough for young children to play, but there are also "advanced game rules" to make it more challenging!

So again, it's like getting 2 games in one!  I love games that work on multiple levels!

Sleuth -

Sleuth is a classic Sid Sackson game.  Its similar to Clue in that you're trying to figure out which card was pulled out of the deck by the process of elimination.  But instead of finding a killer, you're searching for a missing gem!

Plus, there's no game board, so it comes in a much smaller box - about the size of a thick hardback book.  This makes it easy to store.  Its a fun mystery-solving game for 3-7 people, so its great for families!

Cheesonomics: North American Edition + Extra Sharp Expansion -

I cannot get over how cute this game is!  The cheese wheel-shaped box, The adorable cheese-producing animal cards, the cheese wedges, and the cute curd cash bills!  It's all so stinking adorable!  Plus, it teaches some basic elements of economics - like supply and demand, profit, market price, etc!

This edition comes with the basic game plus the Extra Sharp Expansion, which adds in some market factors - like growth hormones, smelly cheese, and organic milk - that affect product quality.  This is a fun game that can be played by kids and adults. Its also playable with up to 5 players, so its great as a family game!
