Great Titles From Sweet Bros Games!

The amazing folks at Sweet Bros Games were kind enough to send me several of their games for review! What a treat! Their games are so cute, and they all looked like interesting family themes, so I was thrilled to try them out with the family this past weekend.

We started with Spank The Pig, as it looked like a quick learn. So, I grabbed my two elementary-aged kids and sat them down for a quick game.

Spank the Pig is a face-paced card game where everyone flips over a card and the last person to "spank" any pigs has to take a card. (You want the lowest number of cards at the end of the game.) You also have to shout out the names of any pairs of other cards (like hippos, beans, and zebracorns). This means you're flipping, reading, slapping, and shouting all at the same time. This makes the game not only a great brain workout, but completely hilarious. If you're a fan of speed/slapping card games, this one is a definite necessity!

We enjoyed Spank the Pig so much, we immediately opened up Cat Ladies of Maple Street!

This is a great way to introduce someone to a deck building game! It's simple. The cards are clear. And the game is quick to learn.  It's also SUPER CUTE!  Even my hubby got a kick out of the titles of the cards, particularly "Back-handed Compliment." Haha! Oh! And did I mention that the cards were a great little bit of extra reading practice for my youngest?  Always looking for those educational benefits in the games we play!

After playing Cat Ladies of Maple Street several times, it was time for bed, so I promised the kids that we'd play the other games the next day.  We were all loving them!  The next morning, we opened up Zombie Chickens.

I wasn't sure how we'd feel about this one.  We have three very "girly" girls in our house and they're more interested in unicorns and princesses than zombies.  But this game is so stinking cute!  And so fun to play!  Each player is a farmer trying to defend their farm against the bok-bok-alypse. My girls LOVED it!  They begged to play over and over. And I love the problem-solving practice they're developing while playing!

Lastly, we tried Magic Dragons...

Magic Dragons is a beautiful little trick taking game with some bidding and take-that components. Easy to learn, easy to play, hard to win! The family really enjoyed this one as well! And my middle child used that "take-that" game mechanic against me beautifully - placing a freezing spell card over a stack in front of me so I couldn't move it, and therefore not earn the 15 points I was trying to earn by having zero card stacks at the end of the game.  She's vicious when it comes to card games!  I taught her well!

So here are my final thoughts:

1.) There's not a stinker among these games. - We thoroughly enjoyed them all and have played each one repeatedly since they arrived!

2.) The games are easy to learn. - We learned to play each game in 5-10 minutes.  That's a HUGE deal in my house!  We play a lot of games (and I review a lot of games), so my kids often groan when they see me pull out a new game and realize they have to sit there and learn how to play it. So a game I can teach them quickly and then we can begin playing is a big deal!

3.) They include links to "how to play" videos. - Each of the game instructions had a QR code that linked to a quick, easy-to-understand how-to video.  This made setting up and learning the game super easy!

4.) Their website includes FAQs for each game. - They have a FAQ section for each game that includes commonly asked questions about certain cards, etc. This is super helpful!

5.) They're games all have really fun themes! - Cat Ladies, Pigs, Dragons, and Zombie Chickens! All fun and cute ideas!

I received these games, free of charge from Sweet Bros Games, in exchange for my honest review.
