Trio Card Game Review

As gameschoolers (and a game reviewer), we own a lot of games.  We have big, elaborate games that take a long time to play. We have medium and light strategy games. We have tons of learning games. But we also have lots of small, quick card games.  Sometimes there isn't time for a huge board game.  And a quick card game can scratch that gaming itch in a pinch! That's why I'm thrilled to share Trio, by Happy Camper Games with all of you!

There are a few, small card games that my family pulls out over and over again.  And Trio has quickly joined their ranks!

What I love about the game:

1.) It's easy to learn! - We opened the game up, read the instructions, and were playing a game all within a few short minutes.

2.) The player count! - This game plays 3-6 players!  Woohoo!  As a family of 5, there's nothing that bums me out more when opening a new game that finding out that it only plays 2-4 players. If it's a game we're going to play during school (while Daddy is working), then that still works.  But if it's a great family game, we all want to play together, so it's a thrill when it accommodates all of us!

3.) The game length! - The game plays in 15 minutes or less. This is perfect for a quick, fun card game!  We can play over and over if we like (and we have) or we can get one or two quick games in during lunch or before bedtime.

4.) The simplicity - The game is sort of a mixture of Go Fish and Memory. There's a bit of strategy and a bit of luck, so it's a great family night game!  Plus, its simplicity allows new players to join in immediately without a steep learning curve.

Final thoughts:

This game has quickly become a go to for when we need a quick game.  My kids ask to play it all the time.  And because it's so quick, we can take a break from schoolwork and play or get a quick play in at bedtime.  Even Daddy has been asking us to play it!

I received this game, free of charge from Happy Camper Games, in exchange for my honest review.
