I love playing games with my toddler - especially if they are fun AND educational.  Unfortunately, there aren't many games that you can buy out there for children that young.  But ThinkFun has a great new game that you and your toddler can enjoy indoors OR outdoors!  And its educational too!!! - Hello Sunshine!

So how does this adorable game work?  Well, Hello Sunshine is a fabulous Hide & Seek game!  The game comes with a plush Sunshine and 18 double-sided cards.  (The cards fit into a velcro pocket on the back of Sunshine!)  Here's how you play the game - Mom or dad takes a card.  Each card has a picture and a description, such as "UNDER the table" or "on TOP of the bed."  Mom or dad hides sunshine where the card says to and then the toddler can "seek" her.  Once your little one finds her they say "Hello Sunshine!"  Then mom or dad can reinforce the positional words by saying, "You found Sunshine!  Sunshine was UNDER the chair!"

There are lots of ways to use this game!  For the littlest children (like an 18 month old) you can use the game as described above.  As your child gets older, you can switch rolls!  Let your child take the card, look at the picture, and hide Sunshine.  Then mom and dad can search for her!  If you have more than one child, let the older child take the card and do the hiding and the younger child can seek.  You could also use Sunshine to teach your child a second language!  Use the cards as directed, and then when your little one finds Sunshine, reinforce the positional words in both languages.  This game has so many wonderful possibilities and can really grow with your child!
