Blogging Throught the Alphabet: H is for "Haystacks"

Its almost Fall!  Yay!!!  Fall is my FAVORITE time of year!  Cooler weather, football, pumpkins, scarecrows, Thanksgiving, changing leaves, etc., etc., etc.!  So, with that in mind, I thought I'd share a fun little recipe!  And its one you can let the kids help make!  Haystacks! Really, these are great any time of the year, but the name "Haystacks" puts me in mind of Fall.  And they are great as a football snack or a Thanksgiving appetizer!

Haystacks (AKA Creepy Crawlies)

1 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup peanuts
2 cups chow mein noodles

1.) Melt butterscotch chips and peanut butter together in a pot, double boiler, or the microwave.
2.) Add chow mein noodles and and peanuts and stir until all the noodles are coated.
3.) Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper.
4.) Refrigerate until set.

  1. I was actually planning on making these today. :) (And I'm still trying to come up with my H post. I apologize for being so slack with this challenge. I'm really struggling in a number of areas right now.)

    1. No problem TaMara! You'll notice this was actually a recipe I had posted last year. I was struggling with H too. Then I thought this was great for Fall, so I decided to post it. ;)

  2. These look so fun! I might even make them for my book club at one of our Fall meetings :)
