WummelBox Review

As you well know, I LOVE subscription boxes!  They are so much fun to receive!  Especially when they contain projects for me to do with my kids!  And Wummelbox is just that kind of subscription!  The wonderful folks at Wummelbox were kind enough to send us their "Color and Light" box for review...

First of all, let me start out by saying that the little Mouse and Hedgehog on the Wummelboxes are so cute!!!  Just adorable!  Now, on to the box!  When we opened it up, the first things we saw were a nice pair of craft scissors and a box of crayons!  These are items that you can use with your crafts, but they are also reusable!  I love that!  I mean seriously!  Who couldn't use another pair of scissors and more crayons for your kids?  WooHoo!

Inside the box were 3 crafts...

Since the theme of this box was "Color and Light," the crafts contained inside were a Windcatcher, a Spin-top, and a Kaleidoscope!  Each craft (instructions and all necessary materials) was carefully packaged in its own bag with a label sticker on the front showing what the craft was!  I thought this was a really nice way to package things. No need for more plastic bags.  (If you are environmentally conscious, this will be a big plus!)

The Windcatcher craft helps teach kids the primary colors.  The decorations on the windcatcher are made from color filter paper, so they can look through the color filter and see the effect it has on what they are looking at!  So neat!

The Spin-top craft is very neat as well!  The kids can put 2 or three different colors on the paper on top of the spin-top.  Then they spin it around and the colors mix!  Amazing!!!

The Kaleidoscope craft teaches your child about refraction.  Looking through the kaleidoscope, they can learn how colors change with light refraction.  Very nifty!

I love so many things about this Wummelbox!  First of all, I love that it gives me 3 fun activities that I can do with my kids!  Its not just a box of toys for my kids to run off and play with alone (although I love those subscription boxes too)!  And secondly, I love that the crafts included in this box will actually teach my child!  These aren't just "fluff" crafts that are purely fun (although those are great too)!  These crafts teach my child about colors and light and how they affect each other.  A fun craft and a learning experience all rolled up into one!  You can't beat that!
